ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Volleyball opened the 2023 season last weekend at the Army Invitational, earning wins over Central Connecticut State University and the host Black Knights. The Stags lone setback came at the hands of Cal, though ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ won a set from a Pac-12 foe for the first time since a 3-1 loss at Utah in 2013. Most recently, the Stags swept Sacred Heart on Thursday at the Pitt Center to improve to 3-1.

UMBC – the three-time reigning champion of the America East Conference – is 1-2 after opening the fall with a win over Ohio, followed by losses to High Point and host James Madison at the JMU Invitational.

Following this weekend's action, the Stags will visit Long Island University on Tuesday, Sept. 5 before another big home contest when Big Ten squad Northwestern comes to Mahoney Arena on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 1 p.m.
