ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ University’s School of Education and Human Development is proud to join the nationwide National School Counseling Week celebration taking place from Feb. 5-9. This annual recognition, sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), highlights the crucial role that school counselors play in students' academic, career, and personal social development.

This year's theme is "School Counseling: Standards-Based, Student-Focused," reflecting ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ’s Counselor Education Department's mission to prepare professional counselors and leaders who — through commitment to diversity, equity, social action, and advocacy — will have a meaningful and lasting impact in their communities and beyond.

As reported by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, there will be a 12.6 percent growth in the school counseling field in the U.S. through 2026, which translates into 35,700 new jobs.
