Paul Schlickmann Letter

Celebrating triumphs! Join us in honoring our student-athletes and their achievements. Your support makes a difference.

Friends of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Athletics,

As we close the books on the 2023-24 academic year, I’m pleased to report that our student-athletes and coaches have captured the Richard J. Ensor, Esq. . This crowning achievement celebrates the overall success on the field of competition across all sports with MAAC affiliation. The Stags last brought home the overall title in 2011-12.

In addition to the overall title, our Women’s Sports program continued their dominance by taking home the Women’s Commissioner’s Cup for the third consecutive year and the fourth time in the last five years. What a way to commemorate 50 years of Women’s Athletics at ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ, with two women’s teams earning national rankings (Women’s Basketball and Women’s Lacrosse) and four programs winning MAAC Championships (Volleyball, Women’s Tennis, Women’s Basketball, Women’s Golf – individual)!

Please take a moment to review the past year of record-setting accomplishments for ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Athletics not only on the field, but more importantly in the classroom:

  • 7 regular season conference titles
  • 4 MAAC Championships
  • 7 Runners-Up in MAAC Championships

Academic Achievements

  • Overall 2023-24 Department GPA of 3.53
  • All 20 Teams achieved a 3.0 or better for the Academic year
  • 115 4.0’s achieved across both semesters

As we draw this year to a close, I’d like to once again say thank you for playing a critical role in the overall success of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Athletics in 2023-24. As a former student-athlete, current or former parent, or fan, you know first-hand that our Head Coaches & Administration maximize every dollar provided by the University and contributed philanthropically. As a Jesuit Catholic University, it is our mission to also make sure our student-athletes are “Built for Life” in mind, body and spirit. Your investment has a significant positive impact on the lives of our student-athletes, preparing them for careers and life after ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ. I believe we are producing results of which we can all be proud: in competition, in the classroom, and in every aspect of the ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ University educational experience.

Please consider making a gift to celebrate our student-athlete success!

With gratitude,

Paul Schlickmann
