Panelists from JRS/USA — Katie Mullins, senior psychosocial support specialist, and mental health clinician Adalberto Sanchez—will discuss the mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) needs and services for migrants and asylum seekers, including those at the U.S.-Mexico border. The panel will explore the types of mental health and psychosocial challenges faced by migrant populations— highlighting some surprising data—and the importance of MHPSS accessibility to these communities.

Ӱԭ University’s Center for Social Impact connects community and campus to create high impact academic opportunities that address local, national, and global challenges, and develops individuals committed to creating a more just and equitable world. In June 2024, the CSI facilitated a learning and immersion experience at the U.S.-Mexico Border with The Encuentro Project for 13 faculty and staff from 8 Jesuit colleges and universities, and JRS staff.
