Conference Assistants (CAs) will work with the Office of Conference & Event Management to help in all aspects of summer conference preparation and execution. Some duties include:
Prepping residence halls for visitors
Preparing check in/check out materials for conference guests
Preparing keys and ID cards for visitors
Staffing check in/check out desks for visitors
Serving as campus and community resources for guests
Serving as a driver for our morning and evening shuttle to the ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ train station
Monitoring and documenting lost keys and ID cards
Performing rounds of campus buildings used for summer programs
Providing service items such as irons/ironing boards, linens, etc. to customers
Assisting with the implementation of events on campus
Participate in nightly on-call rotation for after-hours event and guest support
Plan and implement summer programming
Manage, grow, and post to our office social media channels
Assisting with general administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Office of Conference & Event Management Conference Assistants
Other duties as assigned
Conference Assistant Supervisors have additional roles and responsibilities including the following:
Directly or indirectly managing CA staff in regards to specific tasks
Additional administrative responsibilities
Coordinate preparation, setup, and take-down of specific events
Meet regularly with Conference & Event Management professional staff and act as liaison between pro-staff and CA staff
Assist in coordinating training for CA staff
Deal with team issues affecting CA staff
Other duties as assigned
You must be a current ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ University student who is available to reside on campus during the dates of the position. You must be planning to enroll in classes at ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ University for the following fall semester. You must have full availability (35-40 hours a week), flexibility for the summer, and a valid driver's license. All Summer Conference Assistants are provided with on campus housing in an apartment or townhouse with 4-8 students. Conference Assistants will have the opportunity to select their summer roommates if they have a preference. It is a requirement of the position that the Conference Assistants live on campus for a number of purposes, including late-night work assignments, emergency response, and University presence. The same Residence Life policies outlined in the Student Handbook governing academic year residents apply to Conference Assistants. All Conference Assistants are expected to abide by all policies and help enforce them.
