Noncredit Professional Training and Workshops


ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ University’s noncredit professional programs provide students and professionals with the knowledge and skills to explore a personal topic of interest or perform better in their current role. Workshops are not graded and do not confer a transcript.

    Emergency Medical Technician (E.M.T.)

    The Department of Public Safety, in collaboration with Trumbull EMS, offers an Emergency Medical Technician course established by the State of Connecticut and the National Registry of E.M.T.s.

    Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

    The Department of Public Safety offers CPR per the curriculum of the American Heart Association. This certificate program enables the student to provide Basic Life Support (BLS) functions in a life-threatening situation.

    Healthcare Professionals: Theory, Techniques, and Tools for Practice

    ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ University’s Department of Public Safety employs certified instructors in various areas that offer training to the campus community, the general public, and law enforcement affiliates.

    Rape Aggression Defense

    The Department of Public Safety offers Rape Aggression Defense Training, a nationally recognized self-defense program for women. The R.A.D. system teaches easy, effective, and proven self-defense tactics and is designed to provide women with the knowledge to make an educated decision about resistance.

Online Professional Development Certificates & Courses


ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ’s online, not-for-credit professional development programs–offered in partnership with MindEdge– pair perfectly with a busy schedule. Courses are self-paced, accessible from anywhere, and cover many areas like Six Sigma, digital marketing, small business management, and more.
